闇を見つめ続ける人は闇と同化し、社会の上澄みしか見続けない人は幸せな人生を途中まで歩むが、踏みつけ続けた足元の怨嗟の声にやがて向き合う。例え本人の代でなかったとしても。
個人としての完結さと、集団としての完結さは時に矛盾する。
その隙間にこぼれた人にこそ目を向ける人でありたいと常々思うのは、まさに自分も境界線に近い存在だからなのだと思う。
不幸な犠牲者と平和な日常の境界線はか細く、いつ奈落に落ちても不思議ではないのに、自身の身に降りかかるまで実感を湧くことはできない。
生きたいという意志が薄くなった瞬間、闇に飲まれそうになる錯覚を感じる。
だから例えどんな理由であれ、こっち側に引き留めてくれる人達にはいつも感謝している。
